Praying Mantis é uma banda de Hard Rock inglesa formada na metade dos anos 70 pelos irmãos Tino Troy e Chris Troy e são considerados parte da NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal). O seu primeiro álbum "Time Tells No Lies" foi bastante prestigiado, com o tempo surgiram alguns problemas e trocas de nome até a banda se reestabelecer em 1990 com Dennis Stratton (ex-Iron Maiden) para um festival da NWOBHM no Japão. A sonoridade da banda oscila entre o Melodic Rock / A.O.R. e o Hard Rock clássico, às vezes lembrando bandas como Fastway, Alien e Def Leppard. Eles estão na ativa até hoje, fazendo turnês e lançando discos.
